2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat Price, Engine, 0-60 – Expecting parents should expect to be asked a few questions, including those about the baby’s gender and possible names. The act of trading in a Miata or Wrangler to get a van is considered a sign that the parents are committed to their children. It’s a way to prove they care enough about their children to sacrifice driving pleasure in exchange for a child-friendly cry for help. The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat, introduced in 2004 as a crossover, was taken out of service in 2008 and then returned to the market in 2022 to replace Chrysler Town & Country.
Unfortunately, it has threatened to end that idea. In the short time, it has been on the market, it has won numerous awards for putting the fun back into parenting, providing the highest utility, and performing the job it was designed for: carrying lots of people. Chrysler’s minivan has gone one step further with a plug-in version. We were able to borrow one from Chrysler for a week to test it out.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat Redesign
Exterior Design
All 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat models have the same styling as their non-Hellcat counterparts except for the Hellcat badge. The standard design elements include quad-halogen headlights and LED daytime running lights, as well as LED taillights. Touring Plus and Touring L models come with 17-inch polished aluminum wheels. The Limited comes with 17-inch alloys in a different design and 18-inch wheels on the Limited. The upper trims have chrome detailing and chrome roof rails.
Only the Limited has chrome side mirrors. In addition, the Limited has the option to have a tri-pane Panoramic Sunroof. Black Noise accents and 18-inch wheels are part of the S Appearance Package. The Pacifica Hellcat borrows from the regular Pacifica platform. As a result, it has similar dimensions in all aspects. It has a wheelbase of 121.6 inches and a total length of 203.8 inches. It is 79.6 inches wide and 69.9 inches tall, without the roof rack. Ground clearance for the Hellcat is 5.1 inches. This is not an exceptional figure, but it is still better than most of the segment.
The only difference between the Hellcat Pacificas and non-Hellcat Pacificas is their curb weight. However, the Pacifica Hellcat’s curb weight has been increased by adding an electric motor and a floor-mounted battery. This makes the Pacifica Hellcat weigh 4,943 lbs, compared to the regular Pacifica’s 4,330 lbs.
Interior Design
The Pacifica Hellcat trades many of the same elements as the standard Pacifica. This gives buyers a high-quality cabin that is practical and has a lot of technology. It’s comfortable with an excellent driving position and solid ergonomics. There are some caveats. The third row isn’t quite as spacious as the Honda Odyssey.
Fiat Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment software is relatively easy to use. The 8.4-inch screen responds quickly to commands and is easy to adjust settings. Connect makes it simple to promptly navigate key menus by placing static buttons at the bottom (like Ford’s SYNC3). However, parking the car can be difficult because options are organized on Uconnect, just like apps on a smartphone but messier. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make it easier. Our tester could hear the music clearly from any part of the car via Bluetooth or radio. The optional Harman Kardon 20-speaker Harman Kardon sound system allowed for straightforward listening.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat Engine
Under every Pacifica Hellcat’s hood, a 3.6-liter Atkinson Cycle v6 engine is housed by Chrysler. Although the Atkinson combustion cycle produces less power for efficiency, the gap is compensated by two electric motors that increase outputs. As a result, the total horsepower figure now stands at 360 hp. In addition, an electronic CVT transmission replaces the standard Pacifica’s nine-speed unit and directs power to the front wheels.
Although the Pacifica excels at many things, its powertrain is one of its most notable features. The Hellcat system balances power delivery smoothly, so the electric motors’ low torque and the gasoline engine’s high-end pull don’t feel like separate forces. Although the engine can make a noise when it is idle or under hard acceleration, some vibrations from the engine do reach the cabin. However, overall, the Hellcat and gasoline propulsion systems work well together. However, the CVT transmission can cause the engine to make a droning noise when climbing mountains or passing someone on the road.
